Anti-encroachment drive on Uttarakhand authorities said Pushkar Singh Dhami -- have identified a total 3,793 encroachments across the state, of which it has succeeded in getting 1,288 vacated.
Earlier action is on to remove the religious places built by encroachment on government land in the state. In this sequence, the mausoleums built by occupying government lands are also being removed. Action was taken on tombs built by encroachment on government land at 11 places under Selakui police station area of Dehradun.
A campaign was launched to make the lands encroachment free by marking the religious places built by encroachment on the government land. In view of this, the tombs made of encroachment on the government land were removed from 11 places located under Selakui police station area by Selakui Police Station with the help of Revenue Department, Nagar Panchayat Selakui.
Mazar of Lal Shah Baba Kamal at Selakui, Mazar near Shishambada Pragati Vihar drain, Mazar situated on Pragati Vihar Road, Mazar near Sidcul Gate No. 02, Mazar Bhauwala of Sherry Bagh, two Mazars situated at Jagatpur Khadar, Mazar situated at Kanchiwala, Mazar situated behind Shankarpur Sahara Industrial Area, Shankarpur. Two tombs were removed. In this way, a total of 11 tombs were removed and the government land was made free.
280 religious places removed from government land
So far 280 alleged religious places have been removed from government land in Uttarakhand. So far 20 encroachments made in the name of the temple have been removed from government lands. With this, 260 so-called tombs have been removed from the government land. For the last two months, the administrative machinery is freeing government lands from encroachments made in the name of religious places.
