Businessman Suryakant Tiwari Surrenders In PMLA Court

Suryakant Tiwari, accused in the alleged recovery case from the mining transporter, has surrendered (Chhattisgarh ED Raids) in the court. After this, the ED has taken him on remand for 12 days. The next hearing in this matter will be on November 10. The ED team has started questioning in this case. Three other alleged accused, including an IAS officer arrested in the case, are already in judicial custody. Tiwari surrendered in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Ajay Singh Rajput on Saturday, following which the ED approached the court for his custodial interrogation.

ED’s counsel Sharad Mishra had said that Tiwari surrendered before the court, but we argued that there is no provision for surrender under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and requested his custody, which the court may allow.”

He said the ED had sent several notices to Tiwari after the raid, but he could not appear, so the probe agency sought his custody for questioning.

At the same time, after the surrender, Suryakant Tiwari said that our life is in danger. He has been questioned as to who is in danger of his life, so he could not speak openly. After his surrender, the uneasiness of many people has increased. If Suryakant Tiwari opens his mouth, the problems of many more people can increase in Chhattisgarh. The lawyer said the court has granted 12-day custody of Tiwari. He said that the next hearing is to be held on November 10.
