In the midst of the Chardham Yatra, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert regarding four districts of Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of avalanches for five days in these districts of Uttarakhand. Along with this, the administration has been instructed to be vigilant. And appealed to the pilgrims coming from Madhya Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and other states of the country to start the journey only after getting the update of Uttarakhand weather.
In fact, intermittent snowfall continues throughout the day in Yamunotri. At the same time, there is news of fresh snowfall on the high peaks of Gangotri and rain in Dham. Therefore, in view of the heavy snowfall in Kedarnath, the Rudraprayag district administration has appealed to the travelers to stay at safe places.
Significantly, the rainy season is continuing in the Dhams, due to which a drop in temperature has also been recorded. For this reason, while issuing a new alert, the Meteorological Department has asked the passengers to stop where they are now and proceed only after getting the weather update.

Along with the beginning of the Chardham Yatra, the Meteorological Department had issued an alert for snowfall and avalanches on Tuesday as well. After warning on snowfall and avalanches in Uttarakhand, the Gomukh track was banned for a week by the government in view of the safety of tourists. Along with this, the government also came on alert mode. The government had decided not to allow any tourist to do adventure sports, or trekking in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.
Snowfall and Avalanche Warnings
In view of the warning of more snowfall and avalanches in Uttarkashi district, the Gomukh trek of Uttarkashi was closed for the next one week by the Gangotri National Park administration. Deputy Director of Gangotri National Park Ranganath Pandey had issued proper orders for this. It has been said in the order that only when the weather is favorable, tourists will be allowed to go towards Gomukh. Significantly, due to snowfall, no devotee who had come on Chardham Yatra has been allowed to go to Gomukh.
