For disaster affected people in joshimath, Construction work of prefabricated shelters underway

Construction of fabricated houses at Dhaka for rehabilitation of people affected by landslides in Joshimath, Uttarakhand is in progress and is being completed at a fast pace.

Chamoli District Disaster Management Officer NK Joshi said that the work of plinth level is in progress after leveling the marked land in Dhaka under the supervision of Central Building Research Institute Roorkee and RWD. Action has also been started for arrangements for electricity, water.

Chief Development Officer Dr Lalit Mishra informed that a relief amount of 400.27 lakh has been distributed to 623 affected families for acute and completely damaged buildings, advance amount of special rehabilitation package, one-time special grant for transportation of goods and immediate needs and purchase of household items.

He informed that 902 members of 250 affected families have been lodged in relief camps. Basic facilities like food, drinking water, medicine are being made available to the affected people in the relief camps. So far health check-up of 1223 persons has been done in the relief camps.

In view of the cold wave, heaters, warm clothes, blankets are being made available to the affected people in the relief camps. Regular bonfires have been arranged at 20 places around public places, intersections and relief camps.
