Bhagwat remarked that the Uniform Civil Code’s proposal was drafted in the state of Uttarakhand before it was put before members of the general public for discussion. Bhagwat said suggestions from more than three lakh individuals were received on UCC and they were considered and many of these suggestions were accepted.
University Grants Commission Controversy
Mohan Bhagwat refused to comment on the UGC issue, saying the matter is presently before the country’s highest court.
Bhagwat also urged former servicemen of the armed forces to attend Sangh programs and camps to engage in service capabilities and observe the dedicated work of volunteers.
Bhagwat also remarked that a section of Hindu society in India never betrayed the country. The RSS Chief remarked that the country should be ready to offer reservations for even 200 years to give this class an equal place in society.
Bhagwat urged Indians not to employ foreign immigrants. The RSS Chief added that foreign must be cleared identified by the state and central governments as they cannot be tolerated at any cost. Bhagwat added foreign infiltration is a matter of the Indian economy and of the country’s national security.
The RSS chief went on to say that India and Pakistan should maintain cordial relations. Bhagwat said the relationship between India and Pakistan must involve goodwill between the citizens of both countries.
