Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Uttarakhand on Thursday to inaugurate several developmental projects and address a public gathering. He was warmly received by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun before proceeding to perform puja at the winter seat of Maa Ganga in Mukhwa.

Expressing his enthusiasm, the Prime Minister tweeted in Hindi, "I am very excited to visit the winter abode of the pure 'Maa Ganga' in Mukhwa. This holy place is famous worldwide for its spiritual significance and stunning beauty. It is a unique example of our commitment to both heritage and development."
Boosting Tourism Through Development Initiatives
During his visit, PM Modi flagged off a trek and a bike rally before addressing a gathering in Harsil. Highlighting the Uttarakhand government's efforts to promote tourism, he praised the state’s "double-engine government" for launching a Winter Tourism programme this year.
"I am very happy that the double-engine government of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has introduced a special program to boost winter tourism. This initiative is not only encouraging religious tourism but also creating opportunities for local businesses, including homestays, to thrive," he tweeted.
Emphasizing the government's commitment to economic growth, he added, "We are dedicated to further strengthening the state's economy by promoting tourism in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand."
The visit underscores the government's continuous efforts to enhance tourism, infrastructure, and economic opportunities in Uttarakhand while preserving its rich heritage.
