In Purola area of Uttarkashi, tension has further increased in the case of 'Love Jihad'. Two persons have been arrested in the case, one of whom belongs to a minority community. It was told that after the arrest of both, the situation in the area has worsened. Meanwhile, some unknown people have pasted posters on the closed shops of people of a particular community, threatening them to shut down their business and leave the city.

Police has taken cognizance of the matter and registered a case against unknown people under different sections. The police have also removed the posters from the shops.

Unidentified people pasted posters on closed shops belonging to the particular community on Sunday following protests organized by right-wing groups on Saturday.

Through this poster, he was threatened to shut down his business and leave the city before the mahapanchayat to be held on June 15. Otherwise action will be taken against them. At many places some shops were marked with black crosses. When the police came to know about the posters being put up on Monday, they got these posters removed from all places.

Black crosses put on shops in Barkot as well

One such incident outside Purola was witnessed in Barkot on Saturday. Black crosses were pasted on the shops of people belonging to a particular community during a protest rally here led by a local organisation. Some unknown people also removed the boards of the shops.

Another shop owner said that he is now worried about his future. At the same time, Birjmohan Chauhan, president of Purola Traders Association, said that his organization has never asked anyone to vacate their shops or leave the city. Uttarkashi circle officer Anuj Kumar said on Monday that we have removed the posters from three shops and registered a case against unknown persons under sections 505 and 295 (A) of the IPC. After scanning the CCTV footage, the accused is being searched.

What is the matter

In fact, a person belonging to a particular community in Purola is accused of abducting a minor girl who came to her maternal uncle's house by seducing her. It was told that Uved Khan s/o Ahmed and his accomplice Jitendra Saini were abducting a class 9 minor girl student of Kharsari area by luring them away. Both the youths were trying to run away with the girl student to Vikas Nagar on the pretext of marriage. Only then the eyes of the family and the local people fell on them and when in doubt, they stopped them and inquired. When the matter came to light, people handed over these two youths to the police.

Since then Purola is boiling against the traders of the Muslim community. While warning these people to leave Purola, people were asked to leave Purola and leave Purola along with the youths of the accused special community. The angry mob also uprooted the boards of the shops of the accused. After the warning of the villagers, 42 shopkeepers of the Muslim community ran away from Purola main market overnight leaving their shops and seeing the people's anger.
