On Saturday, a crowd of tourists gathered in Sarovar Nagri. Due to which the beauty of the city has increased. On an average, 40 percent of the hotel rooms are full. Along with this, the parking lots are also packed.
This time the arrival of Christmas festival on the weekend was expected to increase the influx of tourists and the arrival of tourists started from Friday evening itself. This process continued till late Saturday evening. Due to the increase in the inflow of tourists, tourist places were bright all day on Sunday. Congestion was seen on Malroad.
The number of people boating in the lake was also considerable. Here, many programs were organized on Christmas in the big hotels of the city. In which, programs like Live Music, Tambola, DJ, Bon Fire were included. Kumaoni cuisine was served to the tourists in many hotels. Sherwani Hilltop, Manu Maharani, Naini Retreat, Vikram Vintage and Arif Castles were prominent among these hotels which organized the event.
The city was not decorated on Christmas and New Year for the last four years due to the dwindling tourism business and then the hit of Covid. After four years, the Hotel and Restaurant Association has resumed the old tradition. On Saturday, Malrod was seen decorated with different colored electric garlands.
When the red, yellow, green and pink colored focus lights fell on the roadside trees, it became the center of attraction for the tourists. Hotel Association President Digvijay Bisht told that now till January 2, live music will also be played in Malrod from 6 pm to 10 pm. Bumper crowd likely to increase today
Since Saturday, the administration was anticipating the possibility of crowding of tourist vehicles due to Christmas. Due to this, adequate police force was deployed at the city’s entry point Russian Bypass and Narayan Nagar. But the pressure of the vehicles did not increase much and the traffic continued smoothly, so the police did not stop the vehicles at the entry point. However, there was a slight jam inside the city after noon. Now on Sunday there is a possibility of crowd of plain cities and local tourists. CO Vibha Dixit told that a traffic plan has been prepared by the police after consolidating all the arrangements.
