Uttarakhand: CM Dhami assesses the state’s disaster situation

Uttarakhand: On Monday, the state secretariat’s disaster status was evaluated by the chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami.

He gave the officials the order to put together an efficient plan to lessen the effects of the calamity on the state.

The rehabilitation of the villages that are most likely to be harmed by the tragedy should also have a strategy, he added.

Dhami added that in order to permanently treat places devastated by natural disasters and landslides, such as Pithoragarh’s El Dhara and Nainital’s Ballia Nala, the services of national and international level consultants should also be taken into account.

He also directed that effective treatment be provided

Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Radha Raturi, and Secretary Disaster Management Dr. Ranjit Sinha attended this high-level review meeting.

The state has seen significant destruction as a result of the intense rainfall, cloudbursts, and landslides.

Dhami visited the cloudburst-affected Khotila village in Pithoragarh’s Dharchula district earlier on Sunday and assessed the status of the relief and rescue efforts.

“This place is severely damaged. In Khotila village, 58 households had their homes destroyed. Roads that are damaged will be fixed. We are working to treat and rehabilitate the injured persons, the CM remarked. He also spoke with victims of tragedy.

On the midnight cloud burst occurrence in the Lasko river, which is close to the border between India and Nepal, in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, a woman died and over 30 homes were destroyed (ANI).
