Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high-level meeting at his residence today, emphasizing the need to enhance the carrying capacity and infrastructure at the state’s sacred pilgrimage sites—Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. He directed officials to begin preparations immediately for the smooth conduct of the upcoming Chardham Yatra and ensure that necessary arrangements are in place well in advance.

Preparations Underway for a Seamless Pilgrimage Experience

The Chief Minister instructed that a comprehensive Yatra Authority be established to streamline the management and logistics of the pilgrimage. He set a deadline of January 30, 2025, for completing all formalities related to its formation. Highlighting the importance of stakeholder involvement, Dhami urged that by January 15, 2025, a meeting be organized with pilgrimage priests and other stakeholders associated with the four Dhams to gather their valuable suggestions.

CM Dhami Stresses Enhanced Infrastructure for Chardham Yatra

Dhami underscored the critical need for robust infrastructure development to support the growing number of devotees visiting the Chardham sites each year. He stressed that the state government must leave no stone unturned in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and spiritually enriching experience for pilgrims.

 

Officials were also directed to take a proactive approach in planning and implementing measures to accommodate the increasing influx of visitors while preserving the environmental and cultural integrity of the region.

 

The Chief Minister’s focus on early preparations reflects the state’s commitment to making the Chardham Yatra a seamless and memorable experience, reaffirming Uttarakhand’s status as a premier spiritual destination.
