Uttarakhand News: Authorities Compile List of Residents in Israel Amid Conflict

Israel-Palestine Conflict

Uttarakhand News: Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinians in Gaza, the Uttarakhand home department has taken steps to compile a list of the state’s “residents in Israel.” This move followed the return of two state residents from Israel, along with 210 other citizens, on the first evacuation flight that landed in Delhi.

Special Secretary of the Home Department, stated that the state’s home department has communicated with all district administrations

Riddhim Aggarwal, Special Secretary of the Home Department, stated that the state’s home department has communicated with all district administrations, urging people to inform the government about their family members living in Israel. They have provided an emergency contact number, and it is expected that by Monday, they will have a comprehensive list of residents in Israel.

In the midst of this situation, state police officials have been closely monitoring social media for any potentially “provocative pro-Hamas and anti-Semitic posts that may disturb the law and order.”

The conflict in the Gaza Strip has seen several flare-ups over the years, including the recent Hamas attack on Israel, which involved rocket fire from Gaza and border incursions. The ongoing tension in the region has a history that includes significant events like the capture of an Israeli soldier by Hamas in 2006, the takeover of Gaza by Hamas in 2007, and multiple military offensives and conflicts between Israel and Palestinian groups in Gaza.
