Uttarakhand News: The Uttarakhand government under the leadership of sitting Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced work on an ambitious master plan to redevelop the holy Badrinath Dham into a state-of-the-art Spiritual smart hill town. The development would provide a deeply memorable and modern yet culturally rooted experience for pilgrims.

State’s tourism department officials have submitted a detailed presentation of the Badrinath Master Plan to the state CM.

State Tourism Secretary Dheeraj Garbyal remarked the primary idea behind the plan is simple yet powerful that every devotee visiting the holy Badrinath Dham, whether from the country or abroad, should return back home with a memorable and unforgettable spiritual experience.

One of the plan’s key highlights is the development of Dev Darshani Point that has been designed to offer a mesmerizing view of the Badrinath Dham. Another plan in the making is the development of the Badrinarayan Chowk with resting zones, open public spaces for relaxation, interaction and experiencing the town’s spiritual experience along with well-designed seating areas.

According to the state tourism department, the plans would also include strong emphasis on local culture and art. For instance, ISBT walls would feature murals that have been inspired by religious themes and local folk art. They would also include visually appealing and culturally meaningful landscapes. Furthermore, Vasudha Vatika would include a combination of spirituality, nature and Uttarakhand’s traditional aesthetics.

Symbols associated with Lord Vishnu would prominently be featured. Panchajanya Shankh (conch), Kaumodaki Gada (mace), Sudarshan Chakra and Vaikunth Dwar (gateway to heaven) along with artistic representations inspired by the Mahabharata and Ramayana would also feature to enhance the town’s spiritual identity.

Glowing lamps along the Alaknanda River for the Diya Aarti Ghat would also be developed for creating a divine evening for pilgrims. The master plan would also feature improved pedestrian pathways, modern lighting systems, better seating arrangements, eco-friendly beautification and street design and clear signage for visitors.
