For quite some time, employees in the state had been advocating for several demands, such as an annual 20% increase in salaries. Frustrated with the delay in addressing their requests, the employees had embarked on an eight-day work boycott, emphasizing the need for the government to implement the recommendations of the subcommittee of the cabinet.

The government has decided to withdraw the Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed in the Supreme Court

In response to the employees’ grievances, the government has decided to withdraw the Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed in the Supreme Court and comply with the orders of the High Court. Furthermore, there is a commitment to not terminate the services of any employee in the sub-district offices. In the unfortunate event of the demise of a sub-district employee, the government has pledged to provide employment to the dependents.

The resolution comes after Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s assurance to form a committee to address the employees’ demands, especially the 10% salary increase. Following this commitment, the employees have decided to suspend their protest.
