In a move to enhance digital literacy among educators, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has made it mandatory for all teachers and principals in the state to complete a 10-hour online digital training course by March 31.

To facilitate this initiative, SCERT has developed the ‘E-Srijan’ app, which will serve as the platform for the course. SCERT Additional Director Pradeep Kumar Rawat has issued directives to all Chief Education Officers, emphasizing the importance of this training.

Mandatory Course for Teachers and Principals

The directive states that failure to complete the course will be recorded in the teacher’s Annual Confidential Report (ACR), which could affect their professional standing. The training is compulsory for all teachers, headmasters, and principals from classes 1 to 12.

The E-Srijan app aims to equip educators with essential digital skills, ensuring better integration of modern technology in teaching. The move follows previous instances where some teachers did not take digital training seriously.

Certification and Compliance

Upon completing the course, teachers will receive an online certificate, which must be submitted to their respective principals and block education officers. Additionally, participants will undergo an assessment to evaluate their learning progress.

SCERT officials emphasized that digital proficiency is essential for modern education, and teachers must be well-versed in information and communication technology (ICT) to enhance classroom learning. The government aims to bridge the digital divide in education and ensure that teachers use technology effectively in their teaching methodologies.
