The action was confirmed by PWD Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey, who stated that a preliminary probe pointed to serious lapses. The suspension of the engineers reflects the administration's zero-tolerance approach towards negligence and corruption in public infrastructure projects.
CM Reiterated His Government's Commitment
In an official statement, Chief Minister Dhami reiterated his government’s commitment to transparent and accountable governance. He emphasized that no negligence or corruption in public service delivery would be tolerated.
“Every officer and employee must perform their duties with full honesty and dedication. Our government’s goal is to make Uttarakhand one of the leading states in the country,” CM Dhami said.
He further warned that strict action will be taken against any official or employee who fails to fulfil their responsibilities, compromises public interest, or is found involved in corrupt practices.
The Uttarakhand government, under CM Dhami’s leadership, continues to take decisive steps towards building a corruption-free administration, ensuring accountability at all levels.
The state government has consistently taken a tough stand against corrupt and negligent practices. In recent months, several officials across various departments have faced action for dereliction of duty. This latest move is seen as part of a broader anti-corruption drive led by the Dhami administration.
Public trust in government projects has taken a hit due to repeated infrastructure lapses in remote areas. The Chief Minister’s intervention is likely aimed at restoring confidence among the people and ensuring that tax-payers' money is used with integrity and efficiency.
An inquiry committee is expected to submit a detailed report in the coming days. Meanwhile, repair work and structural assessments are being planned to prevent further damage and ensure the safety of the region’s connectivity infrastructure.
