Uttarakhand Receptionist Murder: Culprit’s Resort Demolished, Ex BJP Minister Expelled From the Party. Details Here

Uttarakhand Receptionist Murder: The state government gave the go-ahead to demolish the Vanatara resort in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, which is owned by Pulkit Arya, the son of a BJP legislator who was detained for allegedly taking part in the death of a 19-year-old receptionist. After the teen’s murder sparked protests, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami gave the order to demolish the resort.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, issued instructions for the resort’s demolition, and it is currently being carried out, according to Abhinav Kumar, the Chief Minister’s special principal secretary.

Meanwhile, enraged residents set fire to portions of the Uttarakhand resort a day after the state razed some of the structure where Pulkit Arya killed the 19-year-old lady who worked as a receptionist. Additionally, they damaged Renu Bisht’s automobile, a local BJP MLA. She apparently needed to be taken to safety by police.

In Pauri district, Uttarakhand, Pulkit Arya was detained for the murder of the young resort receptionist. Arya is the owner of the resort. He and her family had both reported her missing on Monday, but police claimed it eventually came out that he and two staff members had killed her. They two have also been detained.

The Yamkeshwar block resort owner Pulkit Arya, resort manager Saurabh Bhaskar, and assistant manager Ankit Gupta were each sentenced to 14 days in judicial custody, according to the police.

This morning, the woman’s body was found in a canal. Amidst accusations of inaction “because the accused’s father belongs to the state’s ruling parties BJP and RSS,” police are looking into the reason. Vinod Arya is a state minister without a position in the government at the moment.

Police haven’t confirmed claims that the teen was coerced into prostitution, although there are allegations to that effect.

Along with Pulkit Arya, other people detained include resort manager Saurabh Bhaskar and deputy manager Ankit Gupta. When questioned harshly, they admitted to the crime, according to the police.

Yesterday when the males were taken into custody, angry neighbourhood protesters surrounded the police car and attacked the officers before they could remove the detainees.

Following the suspected assassination of the teenager, which triggered demonstrations, the chief minister also instructed district magistrates to look into all the state’s resorts. Additionally, the Chief Minister has mandated that resorts that are operating unlawfully would face the appropriate consequences.

Stronger penalties for such crimes

The worst punishment would be meted out for such offences, according to Dhami. “It is regrettable. Police are at work and have completed their task of making the arrests. Regardless of the perpetrator, the worst punishment would be meted out for such atrocious actions”, he stated.
