Uttarakhand Weather Update: The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for nine districts in Uttarakhand. The forecast also indicates multiple rounds of rain in the hilly areas until July 15, which could lead to increased flow in rivers and streams, posing potential hazards.
Current Weather Situation
While some districts in the state are experiencing severe rain, the plains continue to face discomfort due to humidity, despite normal temperatures. The arrival of the monsoon brought relief from the heat, but the subsequent sunshine has intensified the humidity. Continuous rain would be needed to alleviate this discomfort. For now, the plains are expected to remain warm for a few more days.
Weather Update for Today
According to Bikram Singh, Director of the Meteorological Center, there is a likelihood of several rounds of heavy rain across both hilly and plain regions until July 15. Specifically, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected today in parts of Tehri, Pauri, Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar. Other districts may experience cloudy skies or light rain, with humidity continuing to trouble the plains.
