Uttarakhand’s Badrinath Dham Reopened For Pilgrims Today

The doors of Lord Badri Vishal have been opened for the devotees this morning. Along with this, the Char Dham Yatra has also gained momentum. A large number of devotees are reaching the state. The challenges are immense as the journey begins. This time the icebergs have melted in Kanchan Ganga and Radang band on Badrinath Highway. Here on the banks of Alaknanda, there is snow in some places only.

There is still snow on the internal roads of Badrinath Dham, which is being cleared by the environment friends of Nagar Panchayat Badrinath. Shops have also started opening in the Lambagad market which was washed away in the disaster of 2013. In the first village of the country, Mana, the villagers have started moving. Most of the devotees who reached Badrinath Dham on Wednesday reached Mana village. Sanitation work has also been completed from the Army helipad to the temple premises in Badrinath.

The temple of Lord Badrinath opens only for six months in a year

The temple of Lord Badrinath opens only for six months in a year for the darshan of his devotees and remains closed for the whole six months due to heavy snowfall.

A lamp is lit in front of Lord Badri Vishal of Badrinath Temple which never extinguishes. Not even when this temple is closed for six months.

Every year the oil used for the coating of the idol of Lord Bradinath and for the continuous burning of the lamp is extracted by the married women in the palace of Tehri. The special thing is that the whole process of oil extraction is under the leadership of the Queen of Tehri.

It is believed that the statue of Lord Bridi Vishal in Badrinath Dham with meditation posture is made of Shaligram rock. Which was once thrown into Naradkund by the Buddhists. But later on, Adi Shankaracharya found him with his yogic power and got him re-established in the temple by the rules and regulations. Along with this, Jyotirmath was established for its continuous worship and protection.
