Police has made a big disclosure in the case of death of two sisters in Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh. Police say that the girls were not kidnapped, they went on a bike of their own. The accused already knew the deceased girls. The main accused, Chhotu, had identified both the girlsm However, he was not present on the spot. The accused Sohail and Junaid raped both the girls. So far the police have arrested 6 accused.
According to the information, one accused has been arrested by the police after the encounter. He has been shot in the leg. The accused have been identified as Chhotu, Suhail, Junaid, Hafiz and Hafeezul. In this case, the SP of Lakhimpur Kheri said that after raping the girls, they were strangled to death. In the whole case, 6 including the named accused have been arrested. When the girls put pressure on the accused for marriage, they were murdered.
The SP said that the named accused Chhotu had made the girls meet the other accused. Rest of the things will be clear only in the postmortem report.
As soon as this incident came to light, the local villagers protested by blocking the road at Nighasan intersection. The girls’ mother has accused three youths of a neighboring village of kidnapping and killing her daughters. Samajwadi Party and Congress have raised questions on the law and order situation of the state regarding this issue.
The bodies of two girls were found hanging from a tree in a sugarcane field at some distance from a village in Nighasan Kotwali area on Wednesday evening, police sources said here. Both the girls belong to the Dalit community. SP Sanjeev Suman and Additional SP Arun Kumar Singh reached the spot along with a large number of police forces and assured action to the angry villagers.
Sources said the mother of the deceased girls has alleged that three youths, hailing from a neighboring village, killed her daughters after kidnapping them from near their hut. He told that the bodies have been sent for postmortem and the real cause of death will be known only from the postmortem report. The police is investigating the case.
