Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has hit out at the BJP following a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district. BJP MLA Prakash Dwivedi has been booked for allegedly slapping an SDM and pressuring officers to release overloaded sand trucks linked to illegal mining. The episode has sparked major political backlash, with Akhilesh calling the state’s condition “harmful.”

The incident took place when the SDM tried to stop illegal sand transport. The mining mafia allegedly surrounded his vehicle and attacked his driver. A police case has been filed against the MLA, four others named, and 25-30 unidentified individuals. No arrests have been made yet.

Akhilesh Yadav Questions Law And Order in UP

Reacting on X, Akhilesh Yadav posted a sharp comment on the BJP's rule. “What is happening in UP under the BJP rule, it is BJP engine versus coach, BJP leader versus officer, officer versus officer,” he wrote.

He further accused the ruling party of dividing society. “Power is becoming casteist versus common society, BJP versus unemployed youth, BJP versus farmers, BJP versus businessmen and BJP versus women.” His posts suggest that the state is slipping into chaos under BJP's governance.

“Bhajpa Jaye Toh Chain Aaye,” Says SP Chief

In another post, Akhilesh questioned Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s role. “Only one of two things can happen,  either this is happening in the ‘cognizance’ of the Chief Minister or in ‘ignorance’, meaning he is not aware of it. Both these circumstances are harmful for the state.”

He also highlighted how illegal mining is destroying UP’s rivers and environment. “Rivers give life, at least BJP leaders should not sacrifice rivers for their greed and corruption.” Wrapping up his post, Akhilesh wrote, “Bhajpa jaye toh chain aaye.” (peace is possible only without BJP in power).

Police say the investigation is ongoing and further action will be taken. The BJP has yet to issue a formal statement.
