Maha Kumbh 2025:Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accompanied by his wife Sonal Shah and son Jay Shah, took a holy dip at the sacred Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj on Monday during the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela. Shah was joined by yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who extended a warm welcome alongside cabinet ministers.
Shah’s visit began with a ceremonial aarti at the Sangam, where he sought blessings from saints. The Home Minister also participated in a spiritual moment with his grandson, who was blessed by saints through tilak and prayers. Calling Maha Kumbh a "unique symbol of Sanatan culture," Shah expressed gratitude for the festival, which he described as a "great celebration of unity and integrity."

On his official X handle, Shah wrote, "The Kumbh showcases the life philosophy of Sanatan Dharma, which is rooted in harmony. I am eager to take a dip at Sangam and receive the blessings of saints at this great festival."

Shah’s itinerary included visits to the Bade Hanuman temple, Abhayvat, and Juna Akhara, where he had lunch and discussions with sages. He later met Guru Sharananand Ji and Govind Giri Ji Maharaj at their ashram, followed by a meeting with the Shankaracharyas of Sringeri, Puri, and Dwaraka. His visit concluded with his departure for Delhi in the evening.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13 with Paush Purnima, has already drawn over 110 million devotees for sacred baths at the Sangam, a confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. The festival remains a monumental expression of India’s spiritual heritage, showcasing the cultural and religious harmony of Sanatan Dharma.
