Infrastructure Upgrades

The investment includes the doubling of railway lines, construction of new platforms, and development of high-quality holding areas to manage crowds effectively. Additionally, a new bridge has been built over the river Ganga to ease connectivity. Vaishnaw emphasized that these upgrades will not only cater to the Maha Kumbh but also improve long-term railway infrastructure in the region.

War Rooms for Real-Time Monitoring

To ensure seamless coordination, a war room has been established at the Prayagraj Junction station, with another operational at the railway board in Delhi. These war rooms will function 24/7, receiving live feeds from various stations. Railway officers, in collaboration with railway police and state police, will oversee the movement of trains and manage crowds effectively.

Passenger-Friendly Measures

In a bid to simplify the travel experience, the Railways has introduced a colour-coded system for holding areas. Pilgrims can easily follow the designated colour for their direction of movement. Further, informational booklets have been published in 22 languages, and station announcements will be made in 12 Indian languages to ensure accessibility for people from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

Commitment to Passenger Safety

Vaishnaw reiterated the Railways' commitment to providing a safe and efficient travel experience for the millions of pilgrims expected to attend the Maha Kumbh. "We are fully prepared, and every measure has been taken to ensure smooth operations," he added.

This comprehensive approach highlights the Railways' dedication to making the Maha Kumbh a hassle-free event for all attendees.
