A shocking case has emerged from Auraiya district in Uttar Pradesh, where a newlywed woman, Pragati Yadav, orchestrated the murder of her husband, Dilip, just 15 days after their wedding. The crime was fueled by her four-year-long affair with her boyfriend, Anurag Yadav, whom she was unable to meet after marriage.
A Deadly Love Triangle
Pragati and Anurag had been in a relationship for years, but her marriage to Dilip created a barrier between them. Desperate to reunite, the couple devised a sinister plan to eliminate Dilip. Pragati sold her jewelry and provided ₹1 lakh to Anurag, who then hired a contract killer, Ramji Nagar, for ₹2 lakh. Ramji executed the plan and shot Dilip dead.
All Accused in Police Custody
Following an investigation, the police apprehended Pragati, Anurag, and Ramji. All three are now in custody, and legal proceedings have begun. The case has sparked widespread discussions, with many drawing comparisons to previous high-profile love-triangle murder cases in Uttar Pradesh.
Meerut's Muskan Murder Case: A Similar Crime
The Auraiya murder case bears a striking resemblance to the infamous Muskan murder case in Meerut. In December 2023, 22-year-old Muskan, who had been married for just a few months, conspired with her lover, Shubham, to kill her husband, Adil. She mixed sleeping pills in Adil’s food and later strangled him with Shubham’s help. The duo then tried to stage the murder as a natural death, but the police uncovered their plot through call records and other evidence.
Both cases highlight the dark side of relationships driven by obsession and betrayal, leading to tragic consequences.
