Baghpat News: People residing near riparian area of Yamuna River in Baghpat have experienced an underwater explosion. In the early hours of July 26, Indian Oil Cooperation (IOC)’s Panipat-Dadri Gas pipeline near Baghpat district abruptly went off causing an explosion. Fortunately, the explosion happened deep underwater near the basin of Yamuna River flowing through the area gushing the water up in the air. No casualties were reported. Watch Video Here.

Soon after the reports of an explosion circulated within departments, Fire Brigade, Police and officials from Irrigation Department reached the site and took control of the situation.

Authorities swing into action

Ghaziabad administration was informed immediately by the authorities, after which the supply was halted by the orders of Ghaziabad Magistrate. SDM Baraut, Subhash Singh informed, "The Panipat-Dadri gas pipeline had a leakage. I contacted the concerned department and the valves were closed...Slowly, the situation improved."

IOC Officials stated that the explosion happens due to failure in pipeline and a team has been dispatched for repairing. Fortunately there was no loss of life or infrastructure.
