Under the inclusive development vision of CM Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is accelerating industrial expansion in the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA) area, positioning the region as a major centre for investment, employment, and industrial growth.
As per official information, industrial development will be carried out across 56,662 acres under BIDA, marking one of the largest planned industrial expansions in Bundelkhand. The initiative aims to transform a region long affected by economic challenges into a vibrant industrial and logistics hub.
CM Yogi Adityanath: Major Investments to Boost Defence and Heavy Industries
A significant highlight of the plan is the proposed ₹600 crore investment by BEML, which will lead to the establishment of defence and heavy industry units in the region. Officials say this will not only strengthen India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem but also create large-scale direct and indirect employment opportunities for local youth.
To support the upcoming industrial expansion, the state government is also strengthening core infrastructure in Bundelkhand, including roads, power supply, water availability, and digital connectivity. Officials said that dedicated industrial infrastructure will ensure ease of doing business and attract both domestic and global investors to the region.
Logistics Infrastructure to Strengthen Connectivity
To support industrial operations and streamline supply chains, a 100-acre multi-modal logistics park will also be developed under BIDA. The logistics park is expected to enhance connectivity, reduce transportation costs, and attract ancillary industries, further boosting Bundelkhand’s economic prospects.
Employment and Regional Development in Focus
The Uttar Pradesh government said the industrial expansion will play a crucial role in generating employment, improving infrastructure, and driving overall regional development. By attracting large investments and modern industries, the initiative aims to reduce migration from Bundelkhand while ensuring sustainable growth.
Officials added that the BIDA-led development aligns with the state government’s broader goal of balanced regional growth, ensuring that industrial progress reaches historically underdeveloped regions and turns Bundelkhand into a key contributor to Uttar Pradesh’s economic growth.
