Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that the Swachh Bharat Mission has brought a new revolution in cleanliness across the country, transforming public attitudes and making sanitation an integral part of people’s daily lives.

CM Yogi Adityanath said that cleanliness is no longer seen merely as a government responsibility but has evolved into a collective social movement, with citizens actively participating in maintaining hygiene in their surroundings. He credited the mission for creating widespread awareness and behavioural change at the grassroots level.
Drawing a parallel between governance reforms and public participation, the Chief Minister remarked, “The government removed the mafia, and the people removed filth,” highlighting the role of strong administration alongside citizen responsibility in building a cleaner society.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the Chief Minister said that the Uttar Pradesh government will continue to strengthen sanitation services, modernise waste management systems, and promote awareness campaigns to sustain the gains achieved under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
He concluded by acknowledging the contribution of sanitation workers, local bodies, and community organisations, stating that their efforts have played a crucial role in transforming cleanliness into a people’s movement across Uttar Pradesh.
He emphasised that sustained efforts under the Swachh Bharat Mission have led to visible improvements in urban and rural sanitation, including cleaner streets, better waste management practices, and increased public awareness about hygiene and health.
