Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath chaired a high-level review meeting in Lucknow and directed officials to complete the farmer registry process on a mission mode. The initiative is aimed at streamlining access to government schemes for farmers.

Officials were instructed to ensure speedy implementation across districts. The focus is on building an accurate and comprehensive database of farmers.

CM Yogi Adityanath: Farmer registry to improve transparency and access

The Chief Minister emphasized that the farmer registry will serve as a key foundation for delivering benefits in a transparent and time-bound manner. Registered farmers will be able to access various government schemes more efficiently.

These include procurement of wheat, pulses, and oilseeds. Farmers will also benefit from access to seeds, fertilizers, crop protection chemicals, and agricultural machinery.

Priority benefits for registered farmers

According to officials, the registry will help prioritize registered farmers in government programmes. It will also reduce delays and improve targeting of subsidies and services. The move is expected to enhance accountability in the distribution system. It aims to ensure that benefits reach the intended beneficiaries.

Special camps to be organized in villages

Yogi Adityanath directed authorities to organize special camps in every gram panchayat. These camps will help enroll farmers in the registry and assist them with the process. The initiative is designed to reach farmers at the grassroots level. Officials will provide support to ensure maximum participation.

Awareness campaign to ensure wide participation

The government will also run a large-scale awareness campaign to inform farmers about the benefits of registration. Efforts will be made to include both small and large farmers in the process.

Officials highlighted that awareness is crucial for successful implementation. The campaign aims to ensure no eligible farmer is left out.

Strengthening agricultural governance in the state

The farmer registry initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen agricultural governance in Uttar Pradesh. By digitizing farmer data, the government aims to improve policy execution.

This step is expected to enhance efficiency and reduce leakages. It also supports better planning and monitoring of agricultural schemes.

Focus on inclusive farmer welfare

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to farmer welfare. Ensuring easy and timely access to schemes remains a key priority.

The registry system is expected to play a vital role in achieving this goal. It will help create a more organized and farmer-friendly system.
