Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday highlighted the rapid infrastructure and institutional development taking place in Gorakhpur, stating that the city now has key facilities such as quality roads, an AIIMS, medical colleges, and a fertiliser plant, reflecting what he described as a comprehensive transformation of the region.

The Chief Minister noted that improved road connectivity, including newly developed four-lane highways, has strengthened Gorakhpur’s links with neighbouring districts as well as international connectivity routes toward Nepal. He said such infrastructure upgrades are boosting trade, mobility, and regional economic activity.

According to officials, the expansion of healthcare and industrial infrastructure in the city is part of a broader state development strategy aimed at enhancing public services while generating employment opportunities. Authorities believe these projects are positioning Gorakhpur as a major hub in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Adityanath also appealed to residents to actively participate in keeping the city clean, stressing that development must be complemented by civic responsibility. He said public cooperation in maintaining sanitation and urban discipline is essential for sustaining long-term progress.
Government representatives added that ongoing projects in the region include further road widening, urban beautification, and civic upgrades, which are expected to strengthen Gorakhpur’s profile as an emerging centre for healthcare, education, and industry in the state.
Officials said several additional infrastructure works are currently underway or in advanced planning stages to further improve connectivity and urban facilities in the region. These include strengthening internal city roads, expanding drainage systems, and upgrading public amenities to support the growing population and rising economic activity.
Authorities noted that the city’s development is being aligned with regional growth plans so that surrounding towns and rural areas can also benefit from improved transport and institutional access. Better road networks and public infrastructure are expected to facilitate smoother movement of goods and passengers, particularly along routes linking border trade points and major markets.
