Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday emphasised the importance of education as a key pillar of nation-building and a powerful tool for empowering the youth, citing the vision of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar.

He was speaking at a program in Lucknow organised for the digital transfer of scholarships under the Post-Matric and Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme. According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Adityanath transferred ₹297.95 crore to 10,28,205 students during the event.

Highlighting the expansion of scholarship coverage, he said, “Until 2016-17, only 46 lakh students in the state were eligible for scholarships. Today, this number has risen to 62 lakh, reflecting our government’s commitment to inclusive education and social justice.”
The Chief Minister said that education empowers students to channel their potential towards constructive contributions in society and the nation. “It is our resolve that no student’s future, especially those belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes, will be left uncertain due to financial constraints,” he affirmed.
Adityanath added that under the double-engine government, Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a transparent and technology-driven system for scholarship distribution, eliminating middlemen and ensuring direct benefits to students.
