CM Yogi Adityanath Highlights Role of Parliament at 86th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference in Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday emphasised that while India is diverse in appearance, attire, and food habits, the nation speaks with a single collective spirit and shared faith, which is most powerfully united through Parliament. He made these remarks at the concluding ceremony of the 86th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference held in Lucknow.

CM Yogi Adityanath: Parliament as the Strongest Unifying Institution

Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi Adityanath said that Parliament serves as the strongest medium to connect the country’s shared beliefs and democratic values. He underlined that India’s unity lies in its democratic institutions, which reflect the collective will and aspirations of its people.

Presence of Top Legislative Leaders

The closing ceremony was attended by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, and Legislative Council Chairman Kunwar Manvendra Singh, among other dignitaries. Their presence highlighted the national importance of the conference.

Focus on Democratic Practices

The three-day conference brought together presiding officers from legislatures across the country to deliberate on strengthening parliamentary procedures, legislative efficiency, and democratic traditions. Discussions focused on improving coordination between legislatures and upholding constitutional values.

The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of responsible behaviour, healthy debate and mutual respect within legislative houses. He said presiding officers have a vital role in ensuring smooth proceedings, protecting democratic traditions and guiding legislatures towards constructive discussions.
