The Government of Uttar Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has announced preparations for the ninth edition of Deepotsav, to be held on October 19, 2025, in Shri Ayodhya Dham — the sacred birthplace of Lord Ram. The event, themed ‘Ramrajya ka Utsav – Deepotsav’, will transform the city into a glowing spectacle of devotion, culture, and national pride.

Ayodhya set to glow with millions of diyas

This year’s Deepotsav promises to be grander than ever, with the ghats of Saryu River and the streets of Ayodhya being decorated with millions of earthen lamps. Each diya will symbolize faith, peace, and the spirit of Ramrajya, reflecting India’s cultural unity and spiritual heritage.

Officials from the Tourism and Culture Department have confirmed elaborate arrangements for lighting, cleanliness, crowd management, and security to ensure a seamless experience for devotees and visitors.

A celebration of faith, unity, and pride

CM Yogi Adityanath stated that the Deepotsav is not just a festival of lights but a celebration of India’s civilizational values — where devotion meets discipline, and spirituality strengthens nationalism. The event represents the ideals of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram, promoting the message of righteousness, compassion, and harmony across society.

He added that this year’s Deepotsav will mark Ayodhya’s global significance as a spiritual capital and showcase Uttar Pradesh’s rich tradition to the world.

Cultural performances and religious rituals

The grand event will feature Ram Leela performances, laser light shows, cultural processions, and traditional aarti ceremonies along the ghats. Artists from different states and countries are expected to participate, displaying the universal appeal of Lord Ram’s teachings.

Devotees will witness the illumination of temples and heritage structures, along with special prayers and bhajans, creating a divine atmosphere across the holy city.

Ayodhya: The shining symbol of Ramrajya

Under CM Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, Ayodhya has undergone remarkable transformation, with major infrastructural and cultural projects enhancing the city’s global stature. The Deepotsav, since its inception in 2017, has become a symbol of Uttar Pradesh’s cultural renaissance — blending faith, tourism, and development.

Yogi Adityanath has invited all devotees, tourists, and citizens to be part of this historic celebration, calling it an event where “every flame will reflect faith, every light will radiate devotion, and every heart will feel the pride of the nation.”
