CM Yogi Adityanath Launches ‘Yaksh App’ to Strengthen Preventive Policing in Uttar Pradesh

With this initiative, the state hopes to further strengthen law and order and build greater public trust in the police system.

In a major step towards modern and technology-driven law enforcement, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday launched the ‘Yaksh App’ during the Beat Policing session of the Senior Police Officers’ Conference. The initiative marks a clear shift from reactive policing to preventive policing, aimed at stopping crimes before they occur.

The Yaksh App is designed as a comprehensive, police station–wise database of heinous criminals, enabling real-time monitoring and analysis. The platform ensures accountability in beat verification, uses AI-based identification of suspects, and offers advanced features such as voice search for quick data retrieval, gang-link analysis, and location-shift alerts to track the movement of habitual offenders.

New system will help the police identify crime patterns

Addressing senior police officials, CM Yogi Adityanath emphasised that technology must become a force multiplier for policing. He said the new system will help the police identify crime patterns early, monitor suspicious activities efficiently, and take timely preventive action, thereby enhancing public safety across the state.

Officials from UP Police stated that the Yaksh App will significantly improve intelligence gathering and coordination at the ground level. By integrating artificial intelligence and data analytics, the app aims to empower beat constables and officers with actionable insights, reducing response time and improving crime prevention outcomes.

The launch of Yaksh App aligns with the Uttar Pradesh government’s broader push for smart policing, digital governance, and zero tolerance towards crime. With this initiative, the state hopes to further strengthen law and order and build greater public trust in the police system.
