The Lucknow Cantonment area is set to undergo a major development makeover with the Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath government announcing 12 development projects worth ₹101 crore aimed at improving infrastructure and civic amenities in the cantonment.

The projects are part of the state government’s broader effort to modernise areas associated with Uttar Pradesh’s historical, cultural and national heritage while preserving their distinctive identity.
Model Cantonment Status with ₹101 Crore Development Push
According to the announcement, the foundation-laying and Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the projects will be held on August 30, 2026, at 11 am at Dilkusha Lawn in the Lucknow Cantonment area.
The planned projects are expected to strengthen basic infrastructure, expand public facilities and improve the overall civic environment in the cantonment. The government said the initiative will also make everyday life more convenient for residents of the area.
The development programme is being undertaken under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The state government has highlighted the initiative as part of its vision to combine modern urban facilities with the preservation and promotion of heritage.
With the proposed investment, Lucknow Cantonment is expected to move towards becoming a modern model cantonment, with upgraded infrastructure and better-organised public amenities.
The Uttar Pradesh government said its development agenda focuses on infrastructure expansion, good governance and improving public services, while also giving Lucknow a stronger identity through a blend of modernity and heritage.
