Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday remembered the victims of the 1947 Partition on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, saying the division was not limited to the redrawing of geographical boundaries but also resulted in the painful separation of families, relationships and dreams.

In a post on social media, Adityanath said the observance of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day serves as a reminder of the immense suffering endured during the Partition and offers an opportunity to learn from that painful chapter of history.
He stressed that the day conveys the importance of placing the unity and integrity of the nation above all else.
Paying tribute to those who lost their lives during the Partition, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister expressed respect for the innocent civilians who perished amid the upheaval.
Adityanath said their memories should continue to inspire efforts toward building a strong, united and undivided India.
