Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath strongly targeted the Congress while addressing the Winter Session of the UP Assembly on Wednesday. Referring to the national song Vande Mataram, the Chief Minister accused the Congress of appeasement politics and compromising national consciousness. During his address, CM Yogi also issued a clear and firm warning to criminals, asserting that no guilty person would be spared in Uttar Pradesh.
Heated Moments During UP Assembly Winter Session
The proceedings of the UP Assembly witnessed intense debate and political heat, with CM Yogi Adityanath’s address emerging as the central highlight. Speaking before all members of the House, the Chief Minister recalled historical events to corner the Congress, particularly over its stance on Vande Mataram.
CM Yogi stated that in 1923, during the Congress session presided over by Mohammad Ali Jauhar, opposition to the singing of Vande Mataram was first witnessed. “He walked off the stage, which was his personal decision, but surrender later became Congress’ political policy,” the Chief Minister remarked.
‘Appeasement Politics Sacrificed National Sentiment’: CM Yogi
Taking his criticism further, Yogi Adityanath alleged that Vande Mataram became the first major casualty of Congress’ appeasement politics. He questioned whether the opposition to the national song was driven by religious compulsion or a deliberate political conspiracy to weaken national pride for the sake of power.
“The Congress chose to mortgage national consciousness to protect its vote bank,” CM Yogi said, drawing sharp reactions inside the House.
Strong Message to Criminals From the Assembly Floor
Alongside political remarks, CM Yogi used the Assembly platform to send a tough message to criminals in the state. Referring to cases related to codeine cough syrup, the Chief Minister clarified that strict action will be taken under the NDPS Act, regardless of the identity or influence of those involved.
He emphasized that the Uttar Pradesh government has already won related cases in court and that the law will take its course. “No criminal will be spared. The guilty will be punished under all circumstances,” CM Yogi asserted.
Law and Order Remains Top Priority
Reiterating his government’s zero-tolerance policy on crime, CM Yogi Adityanath said maintaining law and order remains the state government’s highest priority. He added that Uttar Pradesh has strengthened its enforcement mechanisms to ensure justice for citizens and accountability for offenders.
