CM Yogi Adityanath will welcome Kanwar Yatra devotees by showering flowers on them in Meerut on Saturday, August 8, 2026, as part of the Uttar Pradesh government’s efforts to ensure a safe, organised and devotee-friendly pilgrimage.

The Uttar Pradesh government said the initiative reflects its commitment to protecting and promoting the state’s Sanatan cultural traditions, religious faith and spiritual heritage. The programme is being organised under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and with the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the government, extensive arrangements have been made along Kanwar Yatra routes across Uttar Pradesh. These include enhanced security measures, cleanliness facilities, drinking water, medical services, resting areas, lighting, traffic management and emergency services.
The government said the arrangements have been designed to ensure that devotees can complete their pilgrimage safely and conveniently. It also highlighted its objective of providing better facilities to pilgrims while respecting their religious faith.
The flower shower ceremony in Meerut is being described by the state government as a gesture of respect and service towards Kanwariyas and as an example of its sensitive approach towards devotees.
Kanwar Yatra Programme Details
The event will be held on August 8, 2026, at 11:30 am, near Dulhaida Police Post in Modipuram, Meerut.
The Uttar Pradesh government said religious events in the state are increasingly being organised with greater emphasis on safety, cleanliness and public convenience. It added that the combination of faith, public service and governance is contributing to the state’s cultural and developmental goals.
