The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a significant increase in the honorarium of part-time instructors working under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, as part of its continued efforts to strengthen the education sector and improve support for teaching staff across the state.

According to an official statement issued by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the honorarium of 24,717 part-time instructors will be increased from ₹9,000 to ₹17,000 per month with effect from April 1, 2026. The decision applies to instructors working under the Basic Education Department during the academic session 2026–27.

The state government will also organize an “Anudeshak Samman Samaroh” and cheque distribution programme on May 17, 2026, at the Lok Bhavan Auditorium in Lucknow to recognize the contribution of instructors and formally mark the implementation of the revised honorarium structure.
The initiative has been presented as part of the education reforms being carried out under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Officials stated that the government aims to provide quality education to every child while ensuring a dignified and supportive working environment for teachers and instructors. The administration also highlighted several welfare measures for education workers, including maternity leave benefits for female part-time instructors and free medical facilities of up to ₹5 lakh for teachers, instructors, and Shiksha Mitras.
Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh, are expected to attend the programme alongside other dignitaries.
The Uttar Pradesh government said it is focusing on innovation-based learning, modern educational systems, trained teachers, and improved infrastructure to strengthen the state’s education network and ensure better learning opportunities for students.
