CM Yogi Adityanath: Uttar Pradesh has achieved a new milestone in rooftop solar installations under the ‘PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana’, with the state government claiming that over 5.20 lakh rooftop solar systems have been installed so far across the state.
According to the Information and Public Relations Department of Uttar Pradesh, the achievement has been made under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, with the state rapidly expanding its clean energy infrastructure and promoting energy self-reliance.
The government also stated that more than 2,000 solar plants are being installed daily in the state as part of the ambitious renewable energy initiative.
CM Yogi Adityanath: Lucknow emerges as top solar city
The Uttar Pradesh government said Lucknow has emerged as the country’s number one solar city under the rooftop solar programme. Officials claimed that increasing public participation and government support have significantly accelerated the adoption of solar energy in urban and semi-urban areas.
The scheme aims to encourage households to generate their own electricity through rooftop solar panels, thereby reducing dependence on conventional power sources and lowering electricity expenses.
Focus on clean energy and green development
The state government said the expansion of rooftop solar infrastructure reflects Uttar Pradesh’s commitment towards clean energy, environmental sustainability and green development.
Officials added that the initiative is helping strengthen renewable energy capacity while also contributing to national goals related to carbon reduction and sustainable growth.
