Before Mission 2024, a large network of roads is going to be laid in Uttar Pradesh (UP). Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday laid the foundation stone of 10 National Highway projects worth about Rs 8,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh. According to an official statement, Gadkari laid the foundation stone for five National Highway projects worth Rs 2,200 crore in Pratapgarh region and Rs 6,215 crore in Deoria district. During this, Gadkari said that Rs 1,290 crore would be spent on the widening of the 43-km National Highway 330 between Pratapgarh and Sultanpur. This will reduce the travel time from Prayagraj to Pratapgarh via Ayodhya.
The Union Minister further informed that the construction of the proposed 14 km bypass at Pratapgarh would start soon. It will cost Rs 309 crore. He informed that Rs 27 crore would be spent for road safety works on National Highway 31. The ceremony, which was held in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, marked a significant step towards boosting the state's infrastructure.
Deoria bypass will be ready in August 2023
Speaking about the Deoria project, the Union Minister said that a 22 km long 4-lane bypass will be constructed in Deoria in August, 2023 at a cost of 1750 crores. He said that these projects would benefit the backward areas of Deoria and Gorakhpur. Gadkari also said that these projects will improve UP's connectivity with Bihar.
Expressing his commitment towards the progress of the country, Gadkari said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, we are committed to make a new route through the National Highway in Uttar Pradesh.
