Thane police has arrested Shahnawaz in Ghaziabad conversion case. This step was taken when some youths were being converted through online games. Shahnawaz Masood Khan was arrested from Alibag. He was absconding since the matter came to light. The Ghaziabad police registered a case and a four-member team raided several places in Mumbai to nab him.
According to Mumbai Police sources, during the search for the accused, his location was found in Worli area. But by the time the police raided there, Shahnawaz fled. After getting information about his mobile location and news, the matter of his escape to Alibaug came to the fore.
In Alibaug, the police team started searching for several lodges and cottages last night. Later in the afternoon, the police got information about Shahnawaz’s presence in a cottage and then the vicious person was arrested. During interrogation, the accused told that the victim child was identified in 2021 on the fort night gaming app. After this both of them became friends and both of them shared each other’s phone number and then the conversation started on the phone.
After a few days he stopped playing the game and then in December 2021 started playing the valorant game. On reaching the ice box target while playing the valorant game, both of them discussed the topic of conversion for the first time and Zakir Naik’s speech was discussed. The accused used to play games through computer from his home. A mobile as well as an i-pad has also been recovered from him. Presently further investigation is going on.
