Ghaziabad News: In an endeavor to enrich its cultural landscape, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) is set to embark on a significant project, allocating ₹25 crore towards the development of a theme park inspired by the epic saga of Ramayana.
A Park Steeped in Ramayana's Grandeur
The park, aptly named "Ramayana Path," will transport visitors to the legendary journey of Lord Rama. GDA Chief Engineer Manvendra Singh shared, "The park will showcase Rama's life during his exile. We'll invite presentations from firms before finalizing the project."
This unique addition complements the existing park planned for Koyal Enclave, transforming it into a thematic attraction. Launched in 2005, the scheme boasts 40-50 hectares of land dedicated to group housing, markets, and hospitals.
A Timely Initiative and Strategic Location
Singh highlighted the developing areas near Loni and Sahibabad, making the park a potential crowd-puller. He further mentioned directives from the Meerut divisional commissioner's office for the park's development.
This project comes amidst the fervor surrounding the recent opening of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, adding to its cultural significance.
Following in Ghaziabad's Footsteps
Interestingly, this isn't the only Ramayana-inspired initiative in Ghaziabad. The municipal corporation recently approved renaming the 10.3km Hindon elevated road as " Shri Ram Setu (Rama's bridge)," further underlining the city's cultural leanings.
