July 2025 in Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has made a Detailed Project Report (DPR) worth ₹193 crore to add two carefully placed ramps to the Hindon Elevated Road to make it longer. The extension is meant to make it easier for people who live in Vasundhara and Indirapuram, two of Ghaziabad's biggest urban areas, to get to Delhi and the Raj Nagar Extension.

The 10.3-kilometer Hindon Elevated Road, which opened in 2018, links the Raj Nagar Extension to the UP Gate near Delhi. However, because cities are growing quickly and there are more cars on the road, the GDA wants to build ramps that will make it easier for travellers from Vasundhara and Indirapuram to get on and off the corridor.

Important parts of the project:

Vasundhara and Indirapuram are where the ramps are.

Cost of the whole project: ₹193 crore

Goal: Lessen traffic on the ground level, make it easier to get to the highway, and make it easier to get to Delhi.

The DPR has been made and is now waiting for funds and final approvals.

Officials say that the new ramps will greatly reduce traffic jams at key locations, giving commuters a ride without traffic lights and faster transit choices. The plan is part of the GDA's larger building roadmap to help the city's growing living and business population and make it less crowded.

Developments That Go Together

The ramp project is one of many building ideas that the GDA sent to the Uttar Pradesh Housing and Urban Planning Department. For 21 different building projects in Ghaziabad, the Authority is asking for ₹2,441 crore. This project is the most important of them all.

How the Project Will Help Commuters

The new ramps will reduce congestion, cut travel time, and offer direct elevated access for Vasundhara and Indirapuram commuters.

Plus, GDA is also:

Building a road that connects Raj Nagar Extension to the Hindon bridge for 42 crore

A 2.7 km stretch in Raj Nagar Extension will be widened to 24 meters, which will cost ₹31 crore, to handle more traffic and get ready for the coming Harnandipuram city.

What's Next?

As long as the state gives its OK, work on the ramps could start in the next budget year. If the project goes ahead, it will make daily commutes a lot easier for people and connect Ghaziabad to the National Capital Region better.

This strategic move shows that GDA is dedicated to better city planning and more efficient travel options for a city that is growing quickly.
