Ghaziabad News: On Thursday, the Congress party criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for naming trains of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) as ‘Namo Bharat,’ calling it a display of excessive self-obsession. Official sources confirmed that the RRTS trains, set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on Friday, will bear the name ‘Namo Bharat.’
No limit of self-obsession says Jairam Ramesh
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh expressed his disapproval, saying, “After Namo stadium, now Namo trains. There seems to be no limit to his self-obsession.” Another Congress leader, Pawan Khera, humorously suggested, “Why even include ‘Bharat’? Just rename the entire country ‘Namo’ and be done with it.”
17-kilometer priority section of RRTS Corridor
A 17-kilometer priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor is scheduled to open for passengers on October 21, following its inauguration. This section, located between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot, features five stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot. Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor on March 8, 2019.
The RRTS project aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision to enhance regional connectivity in the country by constructing world-class transportation infrastructure, as stated by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in a Wednesday statement.
