A shocking case of domestic violence has emerged where a son allegedly beat up his 70-year-old mother in their own home. This disturbing act was recorded on a CCTV camera and later went viral on social media.

This incident has raised a very disturbing question again – are senior parents safe in their own homes?

CCTV Horror in Sanjay Nagar

Ghaziabad News: As per reports, the incident occurred in Sanjay Nagar, also known as Jagriti Vihar, in Ghaziabad on or about January 30-31, 2026. In the CCTV footage, the old woman can be seen being slapped, punched, and even strangled by her son.

The daughter of the victim informed the police about the incident after watching the video. The Ghaziabad Police acted promptly and arrested the accused. The video has gone viral on social media, and people have termed the son’s actions as “jallad” or executioner-like.

Ghaziabad Elderly Couple Hospitalised: A Pattern Emerging?

This is not an isolated incident. In the past few months, Ghaziabad has seen a number of cases of violence against senior citizens.

In November 2025, an elderly couple was stabbed at their home, as reported by Hindustan Times. In previous cases, property disputes and evictions of parents by their own children have also been seen.

The rising number of cases indicates increasing domestic disharmony and a breakdown of family ties.

According to experts, money problems, property disputes, and a lack of emotional support are some of the reasons behind such incidents. But violence against senior parents is still a crime in Indian law.
