Ghaziabad News: In a bid to enhance road safety and curb underage driving, authorities in Ghaziabad have implemented stringent measures, prohibiting minors from bringing vehicles to schools. The move comes as part of a broader initiative to address traffic-related concerns around educational institutions.
In an effort to ensure road safety and deter minors from driving, Ghaziabad authorities are gearing up for strict enforcement. The recent directive prohibits the entry of vehicles belonging to individuals below 18 years into school premises. Authorities emphasize the existing law that already restricted minors from driving, aiming to curb accidents and promote responsible behavior.
Parents found allowing their underage children to drive could face penalties of up to ₹35,000, imprisonment for three years, or both. The stringent measures aim to discourage parents from permitting minors to operate any motorized vehicles. Traffic Police will actively patrol school areas to ensure compliance.
District Education Authorities play a crucial role in implementing and disseminating these directives. School inspectors are instructed to educate parents and students about the consequences of violating these rules. Additionally, they will conduct regular checks to identify and report any violations.
Traffic Police in Ghaziabad have already launched awareness campaigns in schools, educating students and parents about the legal age for driving. Authorities stress the need for joint efforts to create a safer environment for children.
Authorities are authorized to seize vehicles caught violating the rule, with the vehicle registration potentially suspended for a year. Repeat offenders may face more severe consequences, emphasizing the government's commitment to enforcing the law.
Several school principals express support for these measures, highlighting their commitment to the safety and well-being of students. They assure parents that adequate information and warnings will be provided, encouraging responsible behavior.
Authorities stress the importance of parental responsibility in ensuring the safety of minors on the road. Parents are urged to cooperate with school authorities and law enforcement to create a secure environment for all students.
