After the recent suicides of three sisters in Ghaziabad, police are doing an investigation based on new information about their father, Chetan Kumar. According to this new evidence, police believe that Kumar has told different stories about how many wives and children he has had over the years.

Conflicting Marital Claims

In a three-bedroom unit, Kumar has been living together with his three spouses Sujata, Hina, and Tina and together they each have five (5) children. He did not disclose to his wife Tina that he had remarried. The marital police officials have indicated there is an inconsistency in Kumar’s justification for his second marriage, which he claimed was due to his first wife being childless; this was corroborated by the birth dates of the five children.

Suspicious Family Background

In 2015, Kumar had an alleged live-in relationship, but it ended due to the death of his partner from what authorities consider to be strange means. Police suspect that he is lying about the history of his marriage to his live-in girlfriend, who was his only known spouse. Reports suggest that all family members reside together in one room.

Circumstances Leading to Suicide

The sisters, aged between 12 and 14, reportedly became depressed after their father confiscated their mobile phones. The action was prompted by his concern over their obsession with Korean culture and task-based games.

Grandfather’s Appeal

Dilip, the maternal grandfather, has requested the government ban the Korean game implicated in the sisters’ obsession. He believes this could prevent similar tragedies in the future.

Police Action

Authorities continue to probe the case, evaluating the father’s conflicting accounts and the family’s living conditions. The investigation highlights deeper issues related to parental control, mental health, and adolescent pressures in modern urban households.

The case has sparked widespread concern and discussion, emphasizing the need for vigilance, mental health awareness, and careful monitoring of young people’s digital exposure.
