In a significant step towards boosting electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing in Uttar Pradesh, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) to the Electric Vehicle Manufacturers Welfare Trust (EVMWT) for a 100-acre land allotment in Sector 8, near the upcoming Noida International Airport. The allotment is aimed at establishing a dedicated cluster for EV autorickshaw and two-wheeler manufacturing along with their components.
EVMWT to Set Up EV Manufacturing Cluster Near Noida International Airport; LOI Issued by YEIDA
YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh said that the final allotment is subject to approval from the Invest UP Empowered Committee, adherence to state policy guidelines, and other regulatory norms. He added that land acquisition work in Sector 8 is currently underway.
“The Trust has conveyed that more than 150 manufacturers associated with it are keen to set up production units in this region. This will give a massive push to the manufacturing ecosystem near the airport,” Singh stated.
YEIDA is also strengthening the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster-2
In a parallel development, YEIDA is also strengthening the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster-2 (EMC-2) in Sector 10. A start-up engaged in manufacturing EV batteries for two-wheelers—including Royal Enfield—will be allotted 10,000 square meters of land. Havells has already secured 50 acres in EMC-2 as an anchor investor, and three other major firms have been allotted plots as well.
Noida-Greater Noida-Yamuna region as a major EV and electronics manufacturing hub
Another Noida-based startup, Neenjas Electric, has also received a LoI to establish a manufacturing facility for EV chargers, LED lighting panels, and solar-powered technologies in Sector 10. Founded in 2021, the company already operates units in Greater Noida.
These developments are expected to position the Noida-Greater Noida-Yamuna region as a major EV and electronics manufacturing hub, aligned with the state’s industrial growth and green mobility goals.
