Hapur Viral Video: Hapur residents and the District Magistrate (DM) Abhishek Pandey were moved to tears after the one-year-old son of martyred Indian Army soldier Rinkel Balyan performed the final rites of his beloved father.
The Hapur Administration performed the last rites of Balyan in his native village Bhatail with full state honours.
Balyan joined the Indian Army in the year 2016 and sustained fatal injuries when he and 9 other army personnel lost their lives. This was after the bulletproof army truck they were sitting in plunged deep into a deep gorge in Doda district of Jammu & Kashmir. The accident also left 11 others severely injured who are presently undergoing medical treatment.
The six-wheel truck was going for a counter-terrorism operation when it suddenly lost traction near Khanni Top that is a 9000-feet high pass on the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate road.

In the now viral video, the one-year-old son of Balyan could be seen sitting in the lap of his uncle and litting the funeral pyre. This brought tears to the eyes of Hapur DM Abhishek Pandey and many other onlookers.
The wife of Rinkel Balyan was inconsolable while his mother collapsed in grief. Balyan comes from a family with a powerful military legacy. His brother Rishabh Balyan is presently serving in the Indian Army while his father is now retired army personnel.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep and sincere condolences over the accident. Condolences were also shared by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh who remarked he is saddened by the Doda’s tragic accident in which the lives of 10 brave Indian Army soldiers were lost.
Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood also expressed sorrow over the tragic accident that happened in a challenging and remote terrain.
