IPS Officer Surrenders In Case Of Businessman Death After Two Years

IPS officer Manilal Patidar, who is absconding in the case of the death of a mining trader in Mahoba, has surrendered. For the last two years, the UP Police was looking for an IPS officer. A reward of one lakh rupees was also announced on Patidar. Now he has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

Manilal Patidar, a 2014 batch IPS officer, finally surrendered in Lucknow's Anti-Corruption Court on Saturday. The Uttar Pradesh government had recommended to the Center for the dismissal of Manilal Patidar, who was absconding for almost two years. During his tenure as Mahoba SP, mining trader Indrakant Tripathi had accused of extortion. After which he was also suspended due to the allegation of torture for recovery.

In this FIR, serious allegations of corruption were leveled against the then Mahoba SP Manilal Patidar. It was written in the complaint that Chandrakant Tripathi runs a crusher and since June, 2020, SP Manilal Patidar has been demanding a bribe of Rs 6 lakh every month from him, but this bribe was refused. After this, SP Manilal, along with his associate policemen, started threatening Chandrakant Tripathi.
