Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Janmashtami, calling upon citizens to embrace the values of truth, righteousness, social harmony and public welfare associated with the life and teachings of Lord Krishna.

In his message, Adityanath recalled the traditional account of Lord Krishna’s birth at midnight in the prison at Mathura during the Krishna Paksha Ashtami of the month of Bhadrapada. He said Krishna’s appearance symbolised the emergence of the light of truth and righteousness amid the darkness of injustice and falsehood.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said the life of Lord Krishna also offers important lessons on the principles of people-centric governance. According to him, resisting injustice, protecting righteousness, safeguarding the vulnerable and working for the welfare of society were central to Krishna’s philosophy.
Adityanath said his government is working with a similar objective to ensure dignity and security for people at the bottom of the social and economic ladder.
The Chief Minister further urged people to use the occasion of Janmashtami to renew their commitment to preserving India’s cultural heritage, promoting social harmony and contributing to the development of a prosperous and proud Uttar Pradesh.
He called on citizens to incorporate Lord Krishna’s teachings on truth, dharma, duty and public welfare into their daily lives.
